2024 – The Year of the Almond Nail!

2022 was all about the square nails, and 2023 the square oval shape, but this year the almond nail is predicted to be the top pick! Leading the trend is Lynn Mason, Mavala’s Nail Expert, who has shared her top tips on how to achieve the almond nail shape, and why it’s set to trend this year.

Lynn, finds that “The almond shape is great for a clean and classic look, whilst also making the hands look elegant and feminine by giving the illusion of a longer and slimmer finger.”

To achieve the almond look, Lynn recommends:

Scientifique K+ (RRP: £10.50) – To achieve the perfect long almond shape you must first protect your nails from breaking, after all the tip of the nail is the most fragile and unprotected part of the nail. Mavala’s Scientifique K+ allows soft, flaking or splitting nails to become healthy and strong in order to achieve and maintain your desired shape.

Mava-Flex (RRP: £23.00) –The Mava-Flex is also essential in achieving healthy and well looked after nails, because who wants their perfect new nails to break after the first day?  This serum restores and maintains the flexibility of dry and too hard nails, as well as supporting the nail structure, ensuring long and healthy nails.

Emery Board Nail Files 8pc (RRP: £5.00) – Ultimately, the most important tool for achieving the almond shape is a good nail file. This Mavala emery board includes both a rough side and a finer side, perfect for achieving this look. Gently file both sides of the nail using the rough side of the nail file making sure to angle inwards towards the centre of the nail tip, then round the nail tip with the finer side. This creates long shaped nails with the ideal smooth, almond shape.
