F1 Fans Get the Chance to Design Pit Crew Helmets for Hadjar and Lawson
Formula 1 is all about speed, skill, and adrenaline – but behind every race win are the unsung heroes who make it happen.
Now, two rising stars of the grid are inviting you to put your mark on the action. Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson, the up-and-coming talents racing for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, are calling on fans via Airtasker to submit their own helmet designs for their pit crew – but hurry, the challenge closes in just one week.

This season has seen standout performances from Visa Cash App Racing Bulls drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson. In August, Hadjar secured his career-best third-place podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, while Lawson delivered his strongest result to date with fifth place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday.
Now the duo wants to celebrate the team behind the scenes, asking fans to create a design that’s “big, bold and badass” – a tribute to the pit crew who keep the cars running at peak performance every weekend.
“The pit crew have been incredible, and we want to give them a helmet they’ll never forget,” Hadjar and Lawson said. “It should be wild, creative, and totally unforgettable – just like them. They’re the heartbeat of the team, and their helmet should reflect that.”
Pit crews rarely make headlines unless something goes wrong, yet they’re the backbone of F1, executing lightning-fast tyre changes, split-second repairs, and keeping cars alive under pressure. Now, your design could sit front and centre on the team at one of the season’s biggest races.
Hadjar and Lawson will personally pick their favourite submission, which will be made into a real helmet and revealed at the Qatar Grand Prix in December 2025, worn trackside by the pit crew.
No experience? No problem. The challenge is open to everyone – artists, racing fans, doodlers, dreamers. There’s a £500 prize, but the true reward is seeing your creation in the paddock on race day.
