Style Tips for Christmas Jumper Day

New data reveals that searches for Christmas jumpers, which can be delivered in time for National Christmas Jumper Day 2023, have surged by a massive 3,604% across the UK.

Fashion experts Boohoo analysed Google Trends search data to reveal the increased demand of last-minute shoppers trying to grab a festive knit in time for the special day.

The study found searches for women’s ‘Christmas jumper [with] next day delivery’ increased by 3,604% in the last week, in time for the start of December. Additionally, monthly searches for women’s and men’s Christmas jumpers are up 117% and 127%, respectively.

The experts also analysed Google Keyword data across the UK to name the most in-demand clothing items and accessories right now in every city.

The study found that Christmas jumpers topped the searches in numerous cities, including Cardiff, Oxford, Belfast, and Exeter. The festive knits also appeared among the most searched items in Glasgow, Leeds, Edinburgh, and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Whether it comes with bells and tinsel or a more traditional fair isle print, there’s no better way to get in the festive spirit than donning a cheesy, Bridget Jones-esque jumper.

However, some may shy away from showing off their Christmas spirit through their festive attire in case they draw too much attention or even look a little funny. But the experts offer tips to style your festive jumper as part of a bang-on-trend outfit.

According to Boohoo: “Christmas time is ideal to embrace the cheesiness of novelty knitwear, with additions like flashing lights, tinsel, sequins or 3D elements are encouraged, as they allow you to capture the child-like joy of the season.

“However, if you’d like to wear your festive knitwear in a more subtle, stylish way, perhaps when attending your work’s Christmas Jumper Day event, there are some ways to do this.”
