Angelina Dalston’s NEW Seafood Pop-Up on the water

This November, the team behind Angelina Dalston will host a British Seafood Pop-Up in collaboration with Flying Fish Seafoods.

Taking to the water on a moored canal boat in London’s Paddington, Angelina Sull’Acqua (Angelina on the Water) will serve a Tasting Menu showcasing the finest British Seafood, in dishes that take inspiration from Japanese and Italian cuisines.

Angelina Dalston is the much-loved east London restaurant known for its creative tasting menus. For their Paddington pop-up, Angelina have collaborated with their fish supplier and friends at Flying Fish Seafoods, who have been proudly supplying the finest Cornish seafood to chefs around the UK since 2006.

Guests at Angelina Sull’Acqua will enjoy a nine-course Tasting Menu created by founder Joshua Owens-Baigler and executive chef Usman Haider. The menu celebrates the incredible seafood that can be found in British waters, including Cornish Sardines, Monkfish, Scallops, Crab and Lobster. The team are particularly excited to feature Flying Fish’s Sustainable British Blue Fin Tuna following its resurgence in Cornish waters.

“We have been following the comeback of British Blue Fin Tuna and are very happy now to have a sustainable and locally sourced tuna option. For many years as a Japanese inspired restaurant, much of the fish we relied upon came from many miles away and especially sashimi grade was hard for us to source locally. Flying Fish have always led the way in excellent quality fish and seafood sourced from the British Isles, and where better to showcase all that’s possible with British seafood than on a boat on one of the prettiest stretches of Regen’ts Canal. We can’t wait!” Josh Owens-Baigler

Provenance sits at the heart of the menu and for each course the name of the day boat and fisherman which caught the fish will be named on the menu. Japanese and Italian inspirations sit side by side in the fish-centric dishes that range from sashimi and karaage to ravioli and focaccia.

The menu includes:

Diver Scallop Sashimi, Foraged Sea Truffle & Truffle Soy

Focaccia, Squid sausage, Blue fin Tuna, Nduja & Pickles

Puntarelle alla Romana, Cornish sardines.

Milk Bun, Blue Fin Tuna Tartare & Lardo di Colonata

Sweetbread Karaage, Blue Fin Otoro, A5 Kagoshima Wagyu Beef & Black Truffle

Crab & Mascarpone Raviolo, soy cured egg yolk & Lobster Bisque butter.

Cornish Monkfish, Uni Butter and Keta Caviar

Miyagawa Sorbet & Candied Nori

36 Month Aged Parmesan Panna Cotta, Compressed Nashi Pear & Caviar

An optional wine pairing will showcase the best of Italy’s indigenous varieties, including an aperitif of Angelina’s private label sparkling wine.
