Mama Shelter London Shoreditch, the dynamic and playful hotel, is launching a creative and compelling menu for the hotel’s restaurant and Garden Bar on Monday 22nd August, following the expansion of the F&B team.
The creation of the new menu mirrors Mama Shelter’s ethos of inclusivity and catering for all.
The new menu concept is globally inspired with nods to the hotel’s Shoreditch location, as well as Mama Shelter destinations across the world. Guests can choose from starters such as seared yellowfin tuna served with crostini, fine beans and aioli; nduja doughnut served with smoked paprika mayonnaise, and grilled asparagus served with toasted hazelnuts and parmesan cheese.
World-inspired main dishes include Mama’s Fish n’ Chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas Shoreditch-style – a favourite in East London; California Rainbow Salad with heirloom tomatoes, sweet pickle red cabbage and truffle potatoes, indicative of Mama Shelter LA’s health and wellness culture; and a Peri Peri Chicken Burger with red Leicester cheese and peri-peri mayonnaise inspired by Mama Shelter Lisbon. These sit alongside a delicious pan roasted cod loin with poached king prawns, mussels and seafood velouté, and a vegan shepherd’s pie with stewed lentils and tofu, and vegan cheese on top.
The Mama Shelter London Shoreditch Restaurant is the heart of the Mama in many ways: it is a place to share a meal, meet people and enjoy events. It is all about relaxed gatherings, lively get-togethers and informal celebrations, with homemade food, signature cocktails, DJs and table football. Shoreditch locals and travellers alike mix together to bring the city spirit to Mama Shelter London Shoreditch.
Alongside the new all-day menu, the Mama Shelter London Shoreditch Restaurant also serves up a generous buffet breakfast with fantastic coffee, crowd-pleasing modern dishes, an extensive wine and cocktail menu and a delicious homemade dessert offering including Mama’s famous Giant chocolate chip cookie; Kentucky flaming pecan pie with apricot ice cream, and a strawberry crème brûlée withblack pepper tuile.
The menu is the brainchild of new Executive Head Chef, James Green, who brings with him over 20 years’ experience working in quality establishments such as Drake & Morgan and Gordon Ramsey group. His aim is to create a menu that appeals to Shoreditch locals and out-of-town visitors alike, establishing the Mama Shelter London Shoreditch Restaurant as a standout dining destination in the East End.
Green nods to Mama Shelter global locations across the world through his innovative menu. Seasonally, he will continue to tap into other standout Mama Shelter locations across the world, including, but not limited to, Paris, Rome, Luxembourg and new destinations as they open.
