Henley Pub Co., founded by Henry Day, is proud to announce the opening of The Duke, located at the corner of Duke Street and Greys Road in Henley-on-Thames.
Following the success of The Royal and The Coachmakers Arms in Wallingford, The Duke is a vibrant foodie addition to Henley’s hospitality landscape.

The Duke offers a vibrant, inviting pub and dining experience, designed to cater to both locals and visitors. The kitchen is led by Head Chef Adam Hague, whose impressive culinary background includes accolades from Michelin-starred and Rosette-awarded establishments.
His menu draws inspiration from fire and smoke, blending modern British cuisine with subtle Asian influences. With a focus on small plates crafted from the finest seasonal British ingredients, the menu will highlight simplicity and quality. A snack menu includes Aged beef Focaccia with Whipped Lardo and Seaweed; King Prawn, Teriyaki, Sesame and Yuzu Koshō; Potato with Caviar; Lobster, Nori and Gochujang; and Iberico Pig Pie with Gruyere and Pineapple.
Larger plates are either ‘From Paddock’, ‘From Field’ or ‘From Sea’ and include Raw Deer, Wasabi and Granny Smith; Creedy Carver Duck Lasagna with Bacon and Parmesan; highland Rump Cap with Mushroom, Onion and Watercress; Fish Pie with Peas and Capers; Lobster with a Miso Bisque; and Raw Salmon with Leche de Tigre, Onion and Coriander. Desserts include Miso Salted Caramel, Crème Fraiche and Pineapple; Milk Chocolate, Passion Fruit and Pistachio; and Baron Bigod and Oxford Blue with Cranberry and Pear. Finish with a cheeky cocktail of a Toasted Hazelnut Espresso Martini or a Caramel Apple Old Fashioned.
Sunday roasts will be a focus, rotating weekly, delivering an elevated yet comforting dining tradition. Dishes might include Highland Cow Rump Cap, Carrot and Yorkshire Pudding; Burnt Leek, Truffle and Cream; Roast Potato, Beef Fat and Garlic.
Guests can also look forward to a carefully curated drinks selection, including local cask ales, craft beers, expertly crafted cocktails from a Sea & Smoke Old Fashioned to a Dark Chocolate & Cherry Negroni and a global wine list featuring both new and old world vintages.
Spanning 2,600 sq ft, The Duke has undergone an extensive refurbishment, courtesy of Anna Moss founder of Moss Living Interiors based in Henley-on-Thames, to create a space that marries style with comfort. The pub features 74 covers (46 bookable tables and 28 walk-in tables), an enhanced bar area, dining room, and a charming small courtyard for al fresco drinks and to enjoy a cigar from the pub’s dedicated cigar menu which is coming soon. The Duke’s interior is a blend of rich naval blues, burgundy, and light blue tones, complemented by leather textures and artwork including a vintage 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta programme that pay homage to the pub’s history and the character of area.
Front-of-house is jointly led by Jason Herrington and James Connelly as Co-General Managers and guests can expect a vibrant, social drinking and dining destination, perfect for quick lunches, family dinners, evening cocktails, date nights and more – live music is also in the pipeline. The Duke is at the heart of the Henley community, offering locals and visitors alike a pub that everyone would wish was their local.
