THE CORONATION AFTERNOON TEA AT THE LANDMARK LONDON

CORONATION AFTERNOON TEA

To celebrate the King’s Coronation on 6th May, The Landmark London is set to launch a magnificent High Palms Coronation High Tea, offering guests to the hotel a quintessentially British experience in a truly elegant setting.

Nestled among grand palm trees in the hotel’s Winter Garden Restaurant, guests will be entertained by a twinkling piano whilst sat in the striking atrium flooded by natural spring sunlight.

Priced at £88.00 per person, and available to book throughout the Coronation long weekend (6th-8th May), the High Tea includes a regal glass of Champagne Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV to toast His Majesty. The Champagne choice is symbolic, as in 2004, Pol Roger received the Royal Warrant of Appointment and became the official Champagne supplier for the royal family. High Tea guests will also delight in the classic afternoon tea plates, piled with traditional sandwiches, scones and desserts, designed and baked expertly in-house by Head Pastry Chef, Mauro Di Lieto.

To toast to the occasion, guests can purchase additional glasses or bottles of Champagne Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV. The blend is a complex mix of three champenois grape varieties: pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay, and the perfect accompaniment to the high tea.

The Landmark London’s High Palms Coronation High Tea starts with the freshest and most delicious sandwiches, including a special Lapsang souchong smoked Scottish salmon or a much-loved classic, coronation chicken served on walnut bread. Next up are warm freshly baked raisin and apple scones served with Cornish clotted cream and a selection of jams and preserves including Bergeron apricot and London marmalade. No afternoon tea is complete without indulgent treats and traditional desserts. Guests can choose from a range including a Blueberry and lemon meringue tartlet or an extravagant Valrhona dark chocolate crown, topped with salted caramel sauce and cocoa shortbread.

To truly elevate the royal weekend of celebration, guests are invited to upgrade their visit to an overnight stay in one of the hotel’s 50 Suites. Ideal for families, is The Marylebone Family Studio. This spacious, yet intimate suite, flows from the peaceful bedroom with two exceptionally comfortable Double size beds, through an archway, to an elegantly furnished, exquisite living room. Alternatively, and perfect for couples, the Atrium Suite offers significant and lavish charm, as guests are treated to spectacular views over the enchanting central atrium – the hub of Coronation activity at the hotel.

Coronation guests may be tempted to indulge in the Suite Temptations Package. The offer encompasses a magnificent stay* in a sumptuous suite, £100 credit to use in The Landmark London’s renowned restaurants and bars, breakfast in Winter Garden, and VIP welcome amenities, as well as access to the sensuous spa and wellness centre for the ultimate royal treatment.

To complete the weekend, staying guests are welcome to visit The Landmark London’s destination cocktail bar, Mirror Bar, to sip on King Charles III’s tipple of choice, The Martini. Mirror Bar’s expert mixologists can craft the classic cocktail according to taste.

The Landmark London is the ultimate destination to celebrate British culture and history.  Conveniently located opposite Marylebone train and underground station, the hotel has excellent transport links and accessibility. The helpful concierge is also on-hand to direct guests towards Coronation activity around Buckingham Palace and the beautiful nearby area, ideal for exploring, shopping and dining.
