Now That’s What I Call Bank Holiday Brunch – BRITPOP Edition at 100 Wardour Street

Benares’ Michelin-Starred Coronation Chicken

Make it a royal affair at Michelin-starred Benares, with its limited-edition Coronation Chicken centrepiece. Carved tableside, indulge in succulent spatchcock baby chicken roasted in the tandoor and served with a classic sweet and creamy coronation sauce, specially created by Executive Chef Sameer Taneja. Priced at £80 and serving two, the celebratory dish is the perfect way to commemorate his Majesty’s crowning in the heart of Mayfair.

‘Couronnement du Roi’ at Mariage Frères

Raise a glass to our new King with the nation’s favourite beverage – a cup of tea made with the finest blends from luxury French tea brand Mariage Frères. At the elegant listed Georgian townhouse in Covent Garden, explore the exquisite coronation range including the aptly named King’s Tea and Britannia Tea, alongside a celebratory Couronnement pâtisserie; a magnificent crown of raspberries and candied rhubarb placed on an airy cushion of white chocolate mousse, infused with King’s Tea with notes of bergamot and vanilla. AFTERNOON TEAS FIT FOR A KING

Regal Concert with a Side of Tea at 116 Pall Mall – 6 May

To celebrate the historic coronation, 116 Pall Mall will be putting on a show with an exclusive concert from the esteemed London Chamber Orchestra on 6 May, paired with a regal afternoon tea. Located a short distance from The Mall, guests will be welcomed with a decadent afternoon tea in the stunning surrounds of 116 Pall Mall, before being invited to dance away to the musical stylings of composer and vocalist Aga Serugo-Lugo, who will perform some of the King’s favourite songs.

A Nordic Afternoon Tea at Aquavit London

Celebrate with Scandi favourite Aquavit London and indulge in its Coronation ‘Fike’ Afternoon Tea. Enjoy a range of open rye bread sandwiches topped with creamy potato salad, Atlantic shrimp with a fresh dill mayonnaise, chicken with Danish remoulade or roast beef with spicy horseradish. No afternoon tea is complete without a selection of sweet treats – tuck into Swedish delicacies such as Semla or Hallongrotta. There will also be screens outside of Aquavit that will be showing the Coronation activities across the Bank Holiday weekend. Coronation Cocktails and a Royal Afternoon Tea at Great Northern Hotel 

Great Northern Hotel’s royal afternoon tea features finger sandwiches, baked cheddar tartlets and sliced roasted beef on fluffy white rolls, followed by freshly baked scones with homemade preserves and Cornish clotted cream. Sweet treats come in the form of a Dundee cupcake with buttercream, strawberry choux buns and white chocolate macarons with whisky ganache. Royal Afternoon Tea at Flemings Mayfair  

Experience a quintessentially British afternoon tea in The Drawing Room at Flemings Mayfair Hotel and raise a toast to our King with a glass of Delavenne Grand Cru Original Champagne. A specially blended Coronation tea from The East India Company – harvested from bushes that were planted by HRH Prince Philip, on his first official tour of Sri Lanka in 1953 – will also be served. Enjoy a selection of royally good sandwiches including Scottish smoked salmon with cream cheese and roast Cotswold chicken, freshly baked scones and picture-perfect patisserie.
