Cosy up at The Albert as the historic pub reopens its doors following a stunning refurbishment.

Located on Kingston Hill, right by Richmond Park and Norbiton Station, the much-loved local is back with a fresh new look and a menu packed with dishes that’ll make you remember what proper pub grub is all about.

Head Chef Amit Nigam utilises the finest seasonal British produce to create an array of simple dishes delivered flawlessly. Spotlighting classic pub signatures, the all-day menu showcases how only a few quality ingredients can deliver a flavour-packed plate, with highlights including a crowd-pleasing homemade milk breadskate wing with butter and hazelnutroast Shropshire chicken supreme with peppercorn sauce and chips, ox cheek poutineblack beans and celeriac cassoulet with chestnut dumplings; and a brown sugar custard tart

The star of the show is the Sunday Roast, piled high with the finest cuts of meat and an abundance of crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside roasties and giant Yorkshires. Choose from west country roast rump of beef; roast Shropshire chicken supreme; Dingley Dell pork belly; or the girolle mushroom and heritage squash pithivier, whilst for the ultimate roast, there is the Sunday Sharer of venison shank with all the trimmings, best shared between groups of four to six.

A celebration of the great British pub, the interiors artfully spotlight traditional features. Almost akin to a tavern, dark timber complete with gold accents, restored arched windows and high decorative ceilings combine with soft lighting and cosy corners create a warm and inviting local. Pub-goers can also enjoy the private and semi-private spaces which can host groups of up to 20 people inside and 60 people using the secret courtyard to accommodate celebrations of all sizes.

Step outside and embrace the fresh air on the new 150-cover terrace, a sleek wooden addition that wraps gracefully around the front and side of the pub, merging seamlessly with the heated and covered courtyard at the back. The perfect place to sit back and soak up The Albert’s lively pub atmosphere come rain or shine; the multi-levelled space is ideal for sipping a pint in style.

With community at its heart, the pub team, led by charismatic General Manager Kerran Macklin, will also be introducing a whole host of fun for all to enjoy. Expect weekly pub quizzes and festive fun in the countdown to the big day, whilst the first Friday of every month marks bring-your-own-record night, where music is strictly 100% vinyl as guests have free-reign to play their own beats on the pub’s record player.
