Father’s Day spending is predicted to reach a whopping $24 billion in 2025, according to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation.
With the occasion nearing, the hunt for unique and personalised Father’s Day gifts is at an all-time high, with their Google searches increasing by 90% in the past 1 month.
However, the fashion experts at the trousers brand The Pant Project, conducted research that reveals most dads aren’t as excited about Father’s Day.
The study revealed there are 4 major reasons for the same:
- Fathers find the gifts they get too gimmicky and meaningless.
- They feel bogged down by chores and responsibilities even on Father’s Day.
- They don’t get to spend the day the way they want.
- Dads feel guilty when their wives and kids face the stress of planning a perfect Father’s Day.
In a addition to this, it was revealed in a 2024 poll that 32% of surveyed dads claimed they wanted nothing on Father’s Day.
The Pant Project founder & CEO, Dhruv Toshniwal, said, “Dads are simple creatures who feel misunderstood by their families. Most of them desire alone time away from chores and responsibilities on Father’s Day and other special occasions so they can enjoy activities they truly like. Hence, it’s time to ditch gimmicky mugs and annoying Hawaiian t-shirts.”
