Riverside Dining with Fabulous Views at Coppa Club, Tower

Riverside dining and drinking is one of the highlights of summertime in London. Assuming, that is, the sun decides to show its face. But whatever the weather you can now dine in style at Coppa Club, Tower – in one of their stylish and spacious igloos – and still enjoy the spectacular views. They’re made of a transparent material you see.

The restaurant is just around the corner from the Tower of London and across the water from The Shard with views of both and of course iconic Tower Bridge. And this summer the lovely igloos have a new seasonal design – loving the vibrant pinks and yellows. There are comfy cushions and blankets if you’re feeling the chill and it feels like we’re wrapped in Coppa Club warmth even though the sun’s not shining.

Coppa Club, Tower is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as late-night snacks. The all-day menu is available from 11.30 onwards and offers a comprehensive selection of dishes from small plates to table sharers (crudites and antipasti plates), mains and grills, pasta and pizza and salads.

To start, we tuck into the beautifully tender fillet of beef tataki with its rich flavours of Asia. And juicy Catalan prawns, served on pillowy focaccia with the freshest of flavours of fennel, garlic and lemon. Light and tasty to match the summer vibe.

Mains and grills include fish, burgers and steak. The perfectly cooked rare-seared yellowfin tuna is served nicoise-style with a bowl of delightfully mouth-puckering anchovy mayonnaise. Pasta dishes are handily available as small or large portions, so cater to all appetites. The pasta is fresh and flavourful and is served with a choice of sauces including our favourite, the luscious slow-cooked beef shin ragu.

Dessert includes a range of classic puddings like creme brulee, sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake, chocolate cake and ice cream and sorbets. We can’t resist the Coppa mess with its passion fruit curd, mango and lime. It’s like summer on a plate and the perfectly appropriate end to our igloo lunch. The best place to escape the bustle of London life and take in the views, come rain or shine.
