Chef Niklas Ekstedt

New Three-Course ‘Taste of Scandinavia’ Menu from Michelin-starred Chef Niklas Ekstedt

London’s early-bird dining scene is heating up!

With a growing trend for early evening dining across the city**, acclaimed Westminster open-fire restaurant, Ekstedt at The Yard, is fanning the flames. For the first time ever, diners can experience a condensed version of the Scandinavian tasting menu crafted by Michelin-starred Swedish chef Niklas Ekstedt, without compromising on quality or taste.

The new three-course Taste of Scandinavia experience offers three flame-kissed dishes for £59 per person (available Tuesdays and Wednesdays, for guests seated between 6pm and 7pm).

Located within the five-star Great Scotland Yard Hotel, Ekstedt at The Yard’s new menu brings some of its most celebrated dishes to the table at a more approachable price. First, savour the legendary Flambadou oyster with beurre blanc -an experience made even more memorable by a visit to the kitchen to witness the theatrical preparation over open flames. The menu evolves with the seasons, featuring highlights like hay-smoked lamb with sea buckthorn and mint and for dessert, indulge in Niklas’ imaginative wood oven-baked cep mushroom soufflé, served with fragrant woodruff and fresh blueberries. There’s also complimentary homemade bread and salted butter on the side.

Looking to elevate the experience? Add a unique volcanic wine pairing created by Ekstedt at The Yard’s Head Sommelier, Klearchos Kanellakis (ranked 18th in the UK’s Top 100 Sommeliers). The three-glass selection showcases a range of rare and characterful wines to complement the smokiness of the open-fire cooking for £35.
