Moxy Fountainbridge – Edinburgh’s Coolest Hotel?

Hoorah, travel is back on the cards and we can once again escape the humdrum and enjoy all the world has to offer. That said, the cost of living has shot up and many of us are feeling the pinch, with the increased costs of everyday items including groceries and fuel, are your travel plans being shelved again?

I have said it before, and I’ll say it again – travel doesn’t have to be overseas and it doesn’t have to cost the earth, you can even enjoy a little Great British luxury if you plan smart and stay savvy!

There are a wealth of hotels and accommodation to choose from when planning your UK getaway, but my most recent hotelier discovery is fast becoming my number one choice for city break stays, offering the perfect combination of affordability, fantastic locations, and stylish surrounds. Whether you are planning a leisurely vacation or staying away on business, Moxy Hotels from Marriott Bonvoy is the ideal choice.

The Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge is situated in the Lothian region, a leisurely meander from the main tourist attractions – with the EICC, Assembly Rooms, and Princes Street on the doorstep. The hotel is playfully designed for both business and leisure travel and offers a warm welcome that includes a refreshing cocktail on check-in – my kinda hotel! The rooms are more than well equipped with all the bases covered – large and comfortable beds, 42-inch flat screen, plenty of USB ports and power sockets, power showers with MUK products, and incredibly fast wifi – did I miss anything?

Moxy Edinburgh also enjoys fantastic public spaces with a sprawling lobby that boasts a well-stocked bar serving everything from a well-mixed martini – or shaken if you prefer – to the brand new range of beers from celebrity chef Tony Singh, with Indian Lager infused with cardamom and Citrus Pale Ale infused with lemon zest and coriander seed, a refreshing character is at the heart of each beer.  The colourful packaging and striking designs include a paisley print as a nod to both Tony’s Indian and Scottish roots and the vibrant brand combines perfectly with Moxy’s fun-loving spirit. It’s also the perfect accompaniment to the range of tasty nibbles and snacks available at Moxy – do not miss the mac n’ cheese.

As well as the ground floor lobby and bar – you can also enjoy a tipple whilst taking in the incredible city skyline from Moxy’s Rooftop Bar – literally another level! Take in the stunning panorama of Edinburgh with breathtaking views spanning from the Castle to the Fife. Slick design, perfect serves, ambient DJ sets, and unrivalled views of an iconic city – could you ask for anything more from a city centre hotel?

I can’t find fault with Moxy, these stylish hotels are carefully curated to offer a fantastic guest experience with all the bells and whistles you expect from high-end luxury hotels, without the extortionate price tag. The devil is in the detail at Moxy, everything is well thought through to provide a memorable stay from check in, to check out. I particularly enjoyed the welcome cocktail on arrival and loved the mirror message in my room, which told me I look fabulous, which is of course standard…..

You will be hard pushed to find a better value luxury hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, so if you are planning a trip then make Moxy your first port of call. Tell them I sent you.

PS – Watch out for the Chester Weekender feature, coming soon, courtesy of Moxy!
