The Milner York is celebrating Easter in the sweetest way possible this year, collaborating with famous local attraction and chocolate experts, York’s Chocolate Story, to create an exclusive, handcrafted chocolate bar gift for Easter.
The limited edition, luxurious The Milner Bar is made of milk chocolate-infused with orange oil flavourings, crystallised ginger and topped with an orange-coloured white chocolate, developed by the hotel team and York’s Chocolate Story’s expert chocolatiers to reflect the elegant identity of the newly rebranded The Milner York.

York is known as the UK’s ‘Chocolate City’, as it’s the home to iconic brands such as Rowntree’s and Terry’s, which both built large factories in the city during the 20th century. The famous Kit Kat, Smarties and Aero were invented in the city, as well as Terry’s Chocolate Orange. The Milner York already celebrates this legacy with a popular Chocolate Afternoon Tea, accompanied by deliciously chocolate cocktails, and is now going a step further by launching a new York classic: The Milner Bar.
Victoria Poole, director of sales at The Milner York said: “We’re always looking for new ways to bring the best of York to our guests, so we’re excited to be collaborating with such a popular – and delicious – local attraction to launch this new and exclusive chocolate bar. The ingredients for The Milner Bar were carefully chosen to ensure the final creation reflected the hotel — both aesthetically and in terms of flavour. We’re thrilled with the result and can’t wait to share these exclusive treats over Easter.”
Stuart Wood, general manager at York’s Chocolate Story added: “We love working with local businesses in York to champion and celebrate the chocolate heritage of our city. We’re excited to see how guests of The Milner York respond to this exclusive creation, handmade in-house by our expert chocolatiers – especially at what is such a special time of year for us. We’re looking forward to hosting a series of activities this Easter from Easter Chocolate-Making Masterclasses to a Guided Tour & Mini Easter Egg Truffle Rolling at our attraction in King’s Square.”
