Critically acclaimed Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai of Hot Stone in Islington is pulling out all the stops with a spectacular 10-course Japanese feast for the weekend of Mothering Sunday (26 & 27 March).
Diners can expect to feast on an incredible selection of new-style sashimi as part of his most extensive sashimi tasting menu to date, alongside a special seafood hot stone experience, specifically created for Mother’s Day.
Featuring a number of Chef Padam’s signature dishes, the Mother’s Day menu will be available for both lunch and dinner and will spotlight premium seafood, from start to finish. The tasting menu begins with the freshest of oysters – served with tosazu and caviar – before seared seabass nigiri with crispy leek and yuzu miso and the restaurant’s signature crunchy Hot Stone maki rolls.
Next, diners will be invited to delight in Chef Padam’s signature, new style sashimi, exclusive only to this tasting menu! Highlights will include seared butterfish with truffle ponzu, seared fatty tuna with jalapeno sauce, and yellowtail sashimi drizzled in two-year aged Kamebishi soy sauce and topped with freshly grated Japanese wasabi.
The main event is the arrival of the restaurant’s eponymous hot stone, which takes centre-stage. Sizzle a selection of fat black tiger king prawns, fresh scallops and asparagus to perfection, all served alongside yuzu-jalapeno sauce and Japanese steamed rice. Diners can also choose to add a supplementary 50g of exquisite A5 Kagoshima Japanese wagyu for £29pp.
