With World Martini Day upon us, be prepared to indulge in a wide array of martini’s, featuring three very special touches from Manchester Gin: Oyster Gin – Mother of Pearl, Raspberry Infused Gin as well as Overboard Gin.  

Manchester Gin have been internationally recognised by the most prestigious spirits competitions around the world. Mainly inspired by the city it was created in, Manchester. 

Crafted at the Spirit of Manchester Distillery, Manchester Gin hopes to give back to the city that they love, where they have chosen local suppliers. It is all about an immersive experience, whether it is drinking gin or seeing how it’s made, this distillery is one for the books.  

In celebration of World Martini Day, Manchester Gin have curated a range of cocktails with refreshing fruity and exquisite tastes, also with a delicate sweetness. Let the fun be GIN!  

Raspberry Gibson Martini 

Ingredients: 

  • 50ml Manchester Gin – Raspberry Infused Manchester Gin 
  • 15 Lillet Blanc 
  • 5ml apple cordial 
  • 5ml cider vinegar 
  • Garnish with a pickled apple, serve in a coupe. 

Method: 

  • Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.  
  • Shake vigorously and fine strain into a martini glass.  
  • Garnish with pickled apple. 

Fat & Dirty Martini

Ingredients:  

  • Olive Oli Fat Washed Navy Strength Gin (Manchester Gin – Overboard)  55ml 
  • Fino Sherry 5ml 
  • Celery Bitters 1 dash  

Garnish with an olive and a slice of parma ham 

Method: 

For the fat wash:  

For 700ml gin, use 100ml Olive Oil.  

Add the olive oil to the gin and stir well.  

Leave at room temperature for 3-4 hours to infuse.  

Freeze overnight.  

The next day, separate the fat – which will have solidified – from the liquid.  

Strain the liquid if necessary to remove and smaller pieces of fat.  

For the cocktail:  

  • Shake all ingredients with ice.  
  • Fine strain into a nick and nora.  
  • Garnish with a skewered olive and slice of parma ham. 

 Mother of Pearl Martini 

Ingredients:  

  • 50ml Manchester Gin – Raspberry Infused Manchester Gin 
  • 15 Lillet Blanc 
  • 5ml apple cordial 
  • 5ml cider vinegar 
  • Garnish with a pickled apple, serve in a coupe. 

Method: 

  • Stir down all ingredients with ice until extra cold.  
  • Strain into a nick and nora glass and serve with a fresh oyster, lemon, and shallot vinegar.

Manchester Gin have also released a range of flavoured vodkas: Manchester Spirit Vodka. The range offers superior flavoured vodka distilled using innovative techniques to achieve outstanding flavours using no artificial ingredients. The range include classic botanical vodka, tonka vodka, grapefruit vodka and coffee vodka. All are 40% ABV with a RRP of £28 / 700ml.

ABOUT MANCHESTER GIN 

In 2016, couple Seb & Jen decided to have a go at making their favourite spirit from their dining room. With a plan to make 100 bottles a month, they installed Wendy, a bespoke copper, still named for Jen’s late mum. Before they knew it, they’d produced 25,000 bottles from that dining room. 

In 2019, they moved into their state-of-the-art distillery in six lovingly restored Grade-II* listed railway arches in the heart of Manchester, where they produce over 100,000 bottles a year.
