Pravaas, one of London’s most exciting Indian restaurants, has launched a delicious breakfast menu featuring British staples with an Indian twist. Thanks to its prime location in South Kensington, it’s the perfect place to fuel up for those long summer days exploring the city.
If you’re someone who prefers a fry-up over French toast, you’ll devour Shilpa’s version of the Full English Breakfast: think lamb merguez sausages, turkey bacon, grilled heritage tomatoes, potato and kale. Other savoury options include lentil dumplings served with two eggs and hollandaise sauce, egg paratha, avocado toast, and savoury pancakes, including malpuas with spinach, cheese, mushrooms and dosa.
For those with a sweet tooth, Shilpa has added traditional Indian Malpua pancakes with crushed black pepper and fennel, topped with mixed berries, clotted cream and maple syrup. There’s no shortage of delicious drinks to try either. Instead of your usual morning caffeine hit, why not try a delicious cup of sweet and spicy masala chai? There are also plenty of refreshing teas to enjoy, including Jasmine Queen Tea, Royal Darjeeling and Assam Tea.
Breakfast is only available on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10am – 12pm.
Chef patron Shilpa Dandekar has also refreshed the à la carte menu with some sensational seasonal dishes that are bursting with flavours and are sure to bring you on a journey to the heart of India this summer without having to take an eight-hour flight.
To start, dig into a burrata and tandoori heritage tomato salad served with a roasted aubergine and coriander chutney, sweet drop peppers, balsamic pearls, pine nuts podi and coriander oil. Then, it’s tandoori time. Tandoori Portobello and mixed wild mushrooms, roasted butternut squash, and tandoori lobster with a coconut and lime beurre blanc join the already delightful menu, so there really is something for everyone.
Finally, Shilpa has taken a traditional Indian falooda and combined it with a good old Eton mess. The result? A phenomenal mango and strawberry falooda served with lychee jelly, vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, mango pearls and strawberry meringue.
If, after all that, you can’t quite decide which dish to go for, Shilpa’s meticulously curated eight-course tasting menu is a showstopper. At £69 per person (excluding £50 wine flight) it is one of the best priced tasting menus in London.
Whether you’re in the area for The Natural History Museum, The V&A, the Science Museum, or you’re just on the lookout for delicious Indian food this summer, Pravaas is a must visit! Book your table: https://www.pravaas.com/
