Sydney Sweeney recently revealed that she’s giving her golden locks a well-needed break after damage caused by constant colour treatments left it ‘fried’.

The actress shared that she has cut off the dead ends and is ditching the hair dye as she embarks on a ‘hair health journey’, letting her hair grow and embracing her natural brunette shade.

And if the Euphoria star, whose jobs often require her to switch up her hair is doing it, so can you.

Moe Harb, Hair Colour Expert at Beauty Club London, explained: “This Autumn, it’s super important that people prioritise their hair health.

“While the summer is a super fun time to experiment with hair colour, hair dye (bleach in particular), can weaken the hair. Mixed with extra time spent in the sun, your hair is bound to be more porous and prone to breakage.

“A great technique for anyone wanting to grow their hair out naturally without awful roots is balayage, as regrowth lines are less noticeable.

“Face-framing highlights can also be applied to a few delicate strands of hair to refresh your look without much effort or damage.

“We’re seeing some lovely shades grow in popularity for Autumn, however, before giving you a hair transformation, we’ll assess every customer’s hair on a case-by-case basis to check it’s healthy enough to get the hair colour you desire.”

Louise Bailey, a hair extension expert with over 20 years of experience and owner of Beauty Club London, says hair extensions are a great solution for adding colour without hair dye.

She said: “We regularly suggest hair extensions as an effective way to add colour to your hair without putting stress on the natural hair.

“We can create a balayage effect by using balayage tape-in extensions to your hair using a mix of techniques to get the desired look.

“For example, we may strategically place a mix of shades around the head or the lighter colour underneath the natural hair and darker shade on top.

“And we can always cut and shape extensions where needed, to create the illusion of face-framing or add thickness and dimension.

Tape-ins, in particular, are the least damaging professional extensions available as they are extremely lightweight and can be easily applied, so this is a great way to change up your look this Autumn without hair dyes.

Clip-ins are also a great alternative for those looking for a temporary change. These can be purchased with balayage colouring to create a natural look.
