The Best Welsh Beaches in Winter

No, you haven’t read the title wrong. A trip to the seaside may not be the obvious choice for an winter day trip or weekend break. But it’s worth noting that the mercury doesn’t dip as low as you might think at many Welsh beaches in the colder months.

Wales boasts breathtaking beaches with golden sands and clear blue waters set in dramatic, rugged coastlines. They attract visitors throughout the year, whatever the weather.

New research on behalf of Transport for Wales shows the statistically “warmest” Welsh beaches as we head into the colder months. These temperatures are ideal for brisk walks or leisurely strolls along the seafront or headland. If you’re travelling with children, there’s no reason not to bring along a bucket and spade (along with some light coats) and make a day of it.
