How to Choose Disney World Hotels: Everything You Need to Know

Tens of millions of people visit Disney World every year, often travelling with family members or friends for the trip of a lifetime.

If you are planning a trip to Disney World, whether as a first-time or repeat visitor, it’s important to consider where you want to stay for the duration of your trip. Of course, there is no shortage of hotels for those visiting Disney World, though the perfect place for you depends on a number of factors.

Stay On or Off Property?

First of all, you should decide whether or not you wish to stay on or off the property. There are many official Disney resorts as well as third-party hotels that can be considered on-property.

If your group is planning to spend most of its vacation within the park enjoying the rides and everything else that it has to offer, then it’s probably best to choose something on the property.

However, if a visit to Disney World is just a part of your vacation plans within the wider area, then perhaps it may be more convenient to book a hotel off the property.

Official Disney Resorts or Third-Party Hotels?

For the absolute best and most immersive experience, it’s recommended that you choose an official Disney Resort. This way, you will have amazing theming, easy access to the parks, and other hotel guest parks. However, note that these hotels are typically quite expensive.

The other option is to stay at a third-party hotel. You will save money (in most cases), though there aren’t quite as convenient in terms of transportation or access to the park. Some third-party resorts do offer a premier experience, of course, such as the Waldorf Astoria.

Choose a Suitable Resort Classification

When it comes to Disney World resorts, there are three different levels. These are value, moderate, and deluxe. As you can imagine, deluxe resorts are the nicest, with the best amenities and the closest proximity to the parks.

For those on a budget, value resorts are a great option. However, they are typically further away from the parks and there isn’t as much of a premium feel. Those looking for a middle ground will find it at a moderate resort.
