Upgrade Your Easter Egg Hunt With Family Crafts

Looking for a way to keep the kids entertained this Easter? Why not try these 3 easy crafts to elevate your children’s egg hunt experience…

  1. Personalise a homemade basket

Amy Greenshields, party and gifting expert at cardfactory, says: “Start the excitement of the Easter egg hunt early by crafting a homemade basket with your kids which they can use to collect and store their goodies.

“Repurpose household items, like old baskets and cardboard boxes, or buy a wicker basket to use as your base. Decorate them with colourful ribbons, craft paper, buttons, stickers, and drawings for a fun and festive finish.

“Why not get creative and add some bunny ears to your basket or personalise it with their name shaped from pipe cleaners.”

  1. Mark the way

“For the Easter egg hunt itself, create some cute wooden markers to guide the way to finding the hidden treats. Use lollipop sticks as your stakes and top them with Easter-themed drawings and handy hints, such as “getting warmer” and “hop this way” for a more engaging trail.”

“If you’ve got multiple children or if you’re hosting friends, it might be a good idea to have different coloured clues so that each child knows which egg is meant for them.”

  1. Craft bunny ears and masks for an easy costume

“Dressing up will instantly add an extra layer of excitement to an Easter egg hunt – and you don’t need to splash out on a pre-made costume to do so! Simply cut up some sturdy paper strips to form the base of your headband, and use coloured paper or card to shape your bunny ears.

“Or, if you have some plain paper plates lying around, why not create a full-face bunny mask? Help kids cut out eye holes and then let their imagination run wild to design the rest of the face. Pipe cleaners make great whiskers while pastel pompoms or cotton wool balls are perfect for recreating a bunny’s signature fluff.”
