Following its opening earlier this year, The Brush Grand Café is excited to unveil a new terrace and weekend brunch menu from this month. The 70-cover terrace offers an oasis for East Londoners to soak up the summer sun, bringing a slice of European café culture to Old Street, with cocktails from French aperitif specialists Lillet. Open everyday from breakfast to dinner – and everything in between – The Brush Terrace is a unique spot for al fresco drinking, dining and people-watching in the heart of Hoxton.
Executive Chef Ryan Matheson’s menu at The Brush is reminiscent of Europe’s iconic cafés with simple yet refined cooking at the heart. From noon every Saturday and Sunday, visitors to The Brush Terrace can enjoy a new brunch menu with a selection of classic European dishes from Goldstein smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on sourdough; Braised short ribs, mac & cheese with crispy shallots to a traditional Bratwurst served with mustard, pickle, chilli jam and a fried egg. Favourites from the Brush’s à la carte menu such as, Moules frites; Gruyère and bacon flatbread; and Orecchiette with basil, pine nuts and garlic oil also feature.
A special addition to the weekend brunch menu is a selection of sandwich specials featuring a choice of crispy chicken, breaded aubergine or bavette steak, all served with Scotch Bonnet mayo, mozzarella, crispy onions and kale. To accompany the brunch menu, Lillet has created a special cocktail list with serves including a Lillet Spritz (Lillet Rosé, peach, prosecco, soda) and a 1892 serve (Lillet Blanc, mandarine liqueur, rhubarb and olive).
Guests to The Brush Terrace are greeted by a huge bronze paint brush sculpture outside the entrance from which the restaurant takes its name. Now open daily, it is Hoxton’s newest spot for outdoor dining welcoming guests from near and far throughout the summer, alongside The Brush Grand Café and The Brush Lounge & Cocktail Bar. Reservations for all venues are available here.
