W Algarve has launched a brand new menu at flagship restaurant Market Kitchen just in time for summer, created by the hotel’s brand new Executive Chef Julio Ferradas – shaking things up and bring new, exotic flavours to the five-star resort set on the sunny shores of Albufeira in the Algarve.

Ferradas is a Peruvian culinary master with specialisms in Mediterranean and Peruvian cuisine and 15 years of experience within luxury hotels across the globe. He brings a fresh flare and exciting twist to the Market Kitchen menu which serves Portuguese classics and global eats all day long.

Dinner menu highlights include appetisers such as Algarvian grilled octopus with romesco sauce, almonds and sea herb chimichurri and black truffle pizza with fontina cheese; as well as entrées such as chicken parmesan with lemon butter, basil, peas and broad beans and suckling pig with traditional orange jus, apple pure, celery and rocket salad. Vegetarian plates include a whole roasted cauliflower with turmeric, tahini and pistachios as well as truffled macaroni and cheese and king oyster mushrooms with sesame and lime.

Sitting alongside the menu is a curated selection of fresh sushi and wood fired cuts of the highest quality meat, not to forget a Portuguese must – piri-piri chicken.

Sweet treats do not disappoint, as guests can look forward to topping off their meal with indulgent desserts such as the salted caramel sundae with caramelized peanuts, popcorn and chocolate fudge sauce or the orange cheesecake with local cheeses, candied orange zest and dark chocolate ice cream.

The new menu is complimented by a varied menu of classic cocktails with a twist such as the Maria Formosa with Arbun Medronho gin, orange, limi, piri-piri and samphire salt; or the Café com Cheirinho which shakes up Adegha Velha brandy, cold brew coffee, vanilla, chocolate and Arbun Medronho gin. The drinks menu also offers various choices of red, white and rosé wine, as well as sake, beer, champagne and other bar favourites.

Market Kitchen also serves breakfast with a decedent spread of pastries, breads, cheeses, meats, fruits and cereals. Guests can further enjoy fresh twists such as the ‘Acai bowl with raspberries, goji berries, granola and dried coconut’ and the ‘Shakshuka with tomatoes, peppers, onions and coriander’ or indulge on classics such as ‘Pancakes with whipped vanilla cream, strawberries and maple syrup’ or the showstopper Market Kitchen benedict, ‘Alentejo bread, poached eggs, Portuguese cured ham, hollandaise sauce and piri-piri dust’.

Market Kitchen is open daily for breakfast (7am – 11am) and lunch (12.30pm – 3pm); and from Thursday to Saturday for dinner (7pm – 11pm).
