Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re looking to surprise someone special with a gift that’s both thoughtful and unique, why not create a personalised beauty bouquet?
A beauty bouquet is a creative twist on a classic Valentine’s gift, that not only pampers your loved one, but also shows how much thought you’ve put into making their day special.
Below, Franchesca Villar, Beauty Editor at Cosmetify, shares her expert tips on how to craft a one-of-a-kind beauty bouquet for your partner, best friend, or family member. From selecting their favourite skincare essentials to adding those extra-special personal touches, here’s how to make your bouquet truly memorable:
Choose a theme
“Tailoring the bouquet to the recipient is an excellent way to make it feel special and personalised.
“Decide on a theme such as luxury spa day, everyday essentials, or a mix of their favourite skincare, perfume, and makeup products. If you want the theme to be extra personal, select items that match their favourite colour, or go for traditional Valentine’s Day shades such as red, pink, and gold.”
Select the ‘blooms’
“Once you have decided on a theme, start gathering the ‘blooms’. Replace traditional flowers with beauty and skincare goodies, such as face masks, lip balm, mini perfumes, or nail polish.
“To give the bouquet structure, use travel-sized products to add variety and full-sized items as the centrepiece.”
Get creative
“Now it’s time to arrange the bouquet! Use clear tape or glue to secure each beauty item to a sturdy wooden skewer or stick. For heavier items like small bottles, secure with extra tape.
“Assemble the bloom in a vase like you would with flowers so that it keeps the desired shape. Place taller items in the centre and shorter ones around the edges for a balanced look. You can also stick the skewers in foam to help with stability.”
Wrap the bouquet
“To truly mimic a traditional floral bouquet, gather the skewers together, wrap the base with some tissue paper, and fan out the paper at the top. Secure into place with ribbon, twine, or rubber bands at the base.”
Finishing touches
“Incorporate some artificial flowers or greenery within the beauty products to add some extra flair.
“If you want to make the bouquet extra special, add personal touches like a handwritten letter, or small notes with sweet messages attached to each product. You could even lightly spritz some of their favourite fragrance to tie the whole gift together.”
