With its newest property opening in The Red Sea in December 2023, Six Senses is bringing a novel dining concept to the Saudi Arabian desert. The carefully curated dining experiences are inspired by the Kingdom’s rich culinary culture and enhanced by fresh, locally sourced ingredients. 

With five eclectic restaurants, a cooking school, chef’s table, patisserie and gelato pod, Six Senses Southern Dunes ,The Red Sea offers something to please every palette. Celebrating local flavours and utilising local farmers, producers and suppliers, the hotel is committed to sustainable practices, preserving traditions and supporting the local economy. 

Guests at Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea can embark on a unique culinary adventure in an unrivalled setting of golden-hued desert dunes. Private dining options allow for delectable dishes to be served straight to guests’ villas at their request. Or guests can opt to dine in the middle of the desert, for a magical meal under the stars. 

Baruya, an all-day dining restaurant, serves fresh, seasonal food and house-fermented drinks typical to the area, alongside non-alcoholic cocktails, juices and speciality tea and coffee. 

Merkaz, a casual-chic snack bar, serves up plant-based Arabic tapas, pastries, snacks and an exceptional range of hot and cold coffee and tea varieties. Merkaz will also introduce unique themed dinner menus, from Japanese favourites to house-made cheese, paired with non-alcoholic creations from their skilled bar team.

Al Sarab, a regional Arabic speciality restaurant, serves up authentic Arabic dishes from across the wider Arab region, as well as a large selection of tantalising hand-crafted non-alcoholic cocktails. Middle Eastern flavours meet a contemporary approach for a distinguished tasting menu and perfectly paired drinks selection. 

For a taste of comfort, the pool bar and grill serves up global dishes including fresh pizza and barbequed meat hot off the grill. The hotel’s very own gelato pod serves sweet treats to satisfy sugary cravings and keep guests cool under the desert sun. House-made ice cream and pastries are available all day, incorporating local flavours and regional ingredients.  

Daily cooking classes allow guests to prepare and sample regional cuisines under the expert guidance of Six Senses professional chefs. The cooking school can also be booked for an exclusive Chef’s table, an entertaining and interactive dining experience with the Six Senses culinary team.
