Taking place on 2 February 2024, the Dead Sea Marathon is open for registration.

Established five years ago, the Dead Sea Marathon in the Ein Bokek region is slowly making its way onto every marathon runner’s bucket list.

Unfolding at the lowest point on earth and offering spectacular vistas of mountainous backdrops and crystal blue waters, the race offers a running experience like no other.

There are five races on the day, a 5km fun run, 10km race, half marathon, full marathon and Israels Championship 50km ultra-marathon, all ensuring the day can be enjoyed by novices and seasoned runners alike. Due to the minimal elevation gain and the race taking place amidst perfect February conditions, it is often targeted by runners looking to smash personal bests, but also those after a ‘smoother’ marathon experience.

Unlike many marathons, however, the adventure does not end at the finish line. Whether it’s a relaxing float in the buoyant, alkaline rich waters, a revitalising mud bath or a relaxing day at the beach, the Ein Bokek region truly has so much to offer, making the Dead Sea marathon so much more than a 26.2-mile run. The marathon has captured the imaginations of the running community in recent years and therefore it is no surprise participation numbers are set to double at next year’s edition as more and more runners circle the dates in their calendar.
