The V.I.K. (Very Important Kids) Programme, Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo offers a wide array of services designed for families with young children, who have now been designated V.I.K. (Very Important Kids). Upon arrival, V.I.K.s are greeted with fresh fruit juice, homemade biscuits, chocolate lollipops, and a colouring kit (all personalised with the child’s first name) and an in-room surprise.

Parents can enjoy a well-deserved break while little ones stimulate their creativity and curiosity in the Kids Room. Open daily from 10am to 8pm, it is equipped with video games (Play Station & Wii), darts, Lego, building games, tea sets, Playmobil, Duplo and colouring books for all ages. The hotel also offers the “Ateliers des petits connaisseurs” (Little Connoisseurs Workshops), which aim to inspire a love of art in budding young V.I.K. artists through a range of activities like painting, collage, sculpture and even baking. Children are also granted access to the hotel’s heated indoor pool all year long, as well as their private beach with an Olympic-sized pool.

Kid-Friendly Dining Options

Kids are invited to indulge in culinary delights at Monte-Carlo SBM’s renowned restaurants, featuring specially curated menus catering to young palates. Breakfast at Café de Paris Monte-Carlo offers a family brasserie atmosphere in the heart of the Place du Casino. For lunch, Yannick Alléno à l’Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo’s cuisine combines excellence, sharing, and modernity for the perfect family meal. On Sunday, guests are invited to head to Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort for a culinary journey with chef Marcel Ravin’s Worldwide Brunch for a meal in an extraordinary setting.

Enriching Activities in Monaco

Monaco’s beach-lined Mediterranean coast is home to dolphins and whales that can sometimes be spotted while out on the water, while the Monaco Oceanographic Museum teaches kids first-hand the importance of conservation. Families can bond over snorkelling at the Larvotto Nature Reserve – where they may be lucky enough to see a seahorse – or enjoy activities like kayaking and pedal boats.

As the weather gets warmer and the days longer, visitors can make the most of the sunshine to explore the gardens and parks that make Monaco a natural haven for families. From the delicate scent of roses at the Princess Grace Rose Garden or the tranquillity of the Japanese Garden and the fascinating grotto in the Exotic Garden. For a more adventurous outing, families can take a leisurely stroll along the picturesque Chemin des douaniers (Customs Officers’ Path), leading through coastal villages and along cliffs with breath-taking views.

Venturing beyond the principality, La Réserve du Mont d’Azur nature reserve is a haven for native species like the European bison and Przewalski’s horses, showcasing a unique conservation effort in Europe. One of the last remaining royal menageries in the world, the Zoological Gardens, located at the foot of the Rocher, in the Port de Fontvieille, are today home to around 250 animals representing 50 different species. Exotic birds, turtles, caimans, hippopotamuses, reptiles, primates and farm animals enjoy exceptional surroundings.
