Engel Bar in The City’s Grade I Listed Royal Exchange has launched its sun trap of a summer terrace, right in the epicentre of the Square Mile.
Surrounded by some of London’s most iconic architecture this al fresco oasis is serving up spritzes, magnums of rose and steins of beer alongside gourmet German hot dogs, schnitzel, fresh salads, and small plates in addition to a decadent Champagne brunch every Saturday.
Whether you’re craving a Der Klassiker German sausage topped with caramelised onions, indulging in the truffle-laced Der Elegante, or turning up the heat with the fiery Der Hot Hot Hot Dog (spiked with famously punchy Buldak sauce), there’s something to tempt every palate. Pair your feast with draught beer by the pint or stein, a refreshing selection of Spritzes, or a chilled glass of wine. If you’re in the mood for something extra special, why not make a day of it with half priced bottles of Champagne at Saturday brunch? Whether you’re here for casual bites or post-work drinks, Engel’s terrace is the perfect spot to soak up the sun.

Engel Terrace is an extension of the iconic Engel Bar and performance space. The terrace offers two levels: the Upper Terrace, amongst the Grade I Listed columns of The Royal Exchange, and the sun-drenched Lower Terrace, overlooked by the Bank of England. Guests can enjoy Engel’s curated Austrian and German café and bar menu while enjoying the atmosphere of London’s historic financial district.
The Engel Terrace is open from 11am – 8pm Monday to Saturday. For sunseekers in the City, Engel’s terrace will be the go-to destination for outdoor dining and drinks this summer.
