Babur, the award-winning Indian restaurant in the heart of South East London, is ditching the bin and embracing every scrap in celebration of Zero Waste Week from 2nd to 6th September. Executive Chef Jiwan Lal and his talented team will unveil a multi-course menu that turns overlooked ingredients into star dishes.

Babur has teamed up with the trailblazers at Crumbs Brewing to pair each dish with their Naan Lager, the world’s first lager brewed from wonky, surplus naan bread. The perfect match for spicy food – the slightly aromatic Nigella seeds from the naan bread give this beer a wonderfully refreshing finish. There’s naan-thing quite like it.

Highlights include:

Starters

Fish Cake

Spice-mixed fish trimmings, kasundi mayo, fish chicharrón – £8.50

Naan Pakora

Wonky naan bread fritter, served with banana and tamarind chutney – £7.95

Mains

Lamb Neck Stew

South Indian-style stew, vegetable peel broth, potato skin chips – £17.50

Gobi Kofta Curry

Spiced cauliflower dumplings, tomato and basil sauce, cauliflower stem pickle – £15.95

This special Zero Waste menu will be available daily during lunch and dinner service from 2nd to 6th September 2024, giving diners the opportunity to enjoy critically acclaimed Indian food whilst supporting the global movement towards sustainable cooking.
