Marceline is a grand, welcoming Brasserie arriving in the thriving Canary Wharf neighbourhood this summer.

Inspired by the authentic brasseries of Paris and playful iterations in New York, Marceline will serve a menu inspired by classical French brasserie cooking from morning until late, seven days a week.

Interiors, from HURLÉ MARTÍN, will create a timeless, chic setting throughout the cafe, bar, dining room and terrace. Throughout the day the elegantly designed, vaulted dining room transitions from a bright and breezy destination, to an intimate and vibrant spot for cocktails, dinners and late-night digestifs.

Alongside the founders (a team of hospitality doyens) will be Robert Aikens, who joins from Pastis, New York, to head up the menus. Aikens’ menu includes highlights such as Eclair with duck liver mousseGazpacho verte with green grapesSkate kiev with pomme puree; and Ravioles du dauphine – alongside classics like Steak tartare, Tuna niçoise, Escargots de Bourgogne and French onion soup. Desserts include warm Madeleines with pistachio and Peach melba. Dishes are comforting, honest and familiar but demonstrate the kitchen’s technical excellence. Aikens (twin to Tom Aikens), comes from a long line of world-class restaurants, including time at Le Gavroche, Tom’s Kitchen and The Point hotel (Relais & Châteaux group) before the lead culinary role at the Meatpacking District’s Pastis, to great acclaim.

Head of wine, Jeffrey Koren – previously of Norway’s three-starred Maaemo – has compiled a list of over 30 wines by the glass. An ever-evolving list is comprised of over 100 bins from all over Europe, with a particular focus on lesser-known regions that impress both with value and quality with plenty of carafes and bottles from £30.

Cocktails are also serious business at Marceline – served tableside as well as in the dedicated bar (Salon Marceline). They include the Two Sips Martini (£6); the St Germain Spritz (£10) and the Absinthe Sour (£11).

Marceline comes from a team of experienced, creative founders: Levent Büyükuğur, Simon Dewhurst and Hus Vedat, with Liam Nelson leading as Operational Director.

Marceline will open to the public in August.
