It’s officially summer and Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa, in the heart of the enchanting New Forest, has opened its stylish alfresco pop-up bar and kitchen, The Neigh Bar.
Open now until the end of September, The Neigh Bar’s converted vintage horse box, inspired by the New Forest National Park’s native wild ponies, will be dispensing summery cocktails and soft fluffy flatbreads whilst you soak up the rays in the hotel’s beautiful grounds.
Cocktails are suitably seasonal with a classic Pimm’s with seasonal fruit, fresh garden mint and lemonade alongside spicy Picantes and Ginger Cosmos. For those looking for a chilled glass of wine, local vineyards are represented, including Hattingley Valley’s sparkling Classic Reserve and the New Forest’s own Ravishing Rosé.
The menu features soft, fluffy flatbreads baked fresh from the onsite Roccbox with varieties such as The Roundhill, with nduja, manchego and rocket; and The Puttles Bridge with burrata, macerated tomatoes and basil. Small plates, featuring locally sourced seasonal ingredients, include The Hawkhill with Gochujang charred hispi cabbage, pickled red cabbage and sesame seeds; The Norleywood – a teriyaki pork belly skewer with pickled cucumber and a fresh mint yoghurt; and The Setthorns, masala corn on the cob, spring onion, coriander, and harissa mayo.
The Neigh Bar is open from Wednesday to Sunday with guests welcome from 10.30am-6.30pm Wednesday to Thursday, and 10am-8pm Friday to Sunday. Food is served from 12pm-5:30pm, catering to walk-ins only. To savour the taste of summer in the stunning surrounds of Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa, visit The Neigh Bar today.
