The popularity of the summer staycation continues for Classic Cottages, the largest independent holiday letting agency in the UK.

Classic Cottages’ occupancy levels reflect a positive summer staycation market, with the agency reporting a notable change in booking trends towards an increased volume of last-minute bookings for the summer holidays. In comparison to 2022, Classic have reported a 22% increase in bookings made within 7 days of arrival, 49% within 14 days and 27% within 28 days. The August bank holiday weekend is currently the most searched for holiday dates on Classic’s website, with occupancy up in comparison to previous years.

The ever-popular seaside locations of Cornwall, Devon, Pembrokeshire, and the Isle of Wight, continue to be in-demand with both families and couples this summer, and generally book up much further in advance. And whilst seaside hotspots, such as Bigbury-on-Sea in south Devon, St Agnes in Cornwall, Seaview on the Isle of Wight and Tenby in Pembrokeshire, continue to be the most popular holiday destinations, Classic Cottages has seen an increase in demand for summer escapes to those quieter holiday spots, too. Lesser-known areas along the Cornish coast, including Cadgwith, the Helford and the Rame Peninsula, tend to book up months in advance, whilst Classic has reported an increase in last-minute bookings for rural hideaways in Dartmoor, Cumbria and Sussex.

Classic Cottages is the largest independent holiday letting agency in the UK.
